APPLICATIONS
City of Estherville // Estherville Municipal Swimming Pool Project
Project representatives provided an initial presentation of the project to the Board. Discussion included the community support for the project, as shown through the bond issuance that passed at 69%, the location of the new pool near other community amenities, and timing of the project. The committee encouraged the applicant to proceed with the private fundraising campaign to close the fundraising gap.
City of Marion // The Marion Public Library New Building Project
Project representatives provided an initial presentation of the project to the Board. Discussion included the significant growth in Marion population and use of its public library, the shortcomings and lack of space in the current facility, and strategies for managing additional growth into the future. Currently, the fundraising is in the silent phase. The committee encouraged the applicant to proceed with the public fundraising campaign to close the fundraising gap.
City of Tabor & Tabor Library Association // Lakin Library and Envisioning Center
Project representatives provided an initial presentation of the project to the Board. Discussion included the rich history in Tabor and the current library’s inadequacies. The committee commended the applicant on the depth of fundraising that has already been completed.
