New Business

UA19-01
Altoona

Matt Rasmussen introduced this as being a 100% voluntary annexation into the City of Altoona consisting of 5.01 acres.  The reason for the proposed annexation is to annex land for a future church.  The property is adjacent to a public street known as NE 38th Avenue and Skinner Parkway SE.  Skinner Parkway SE is in Altoona.
Sidewalks will be constructed as part of the project.  Water and Sanitary sewer are near, but not immediately adjacent to this property.  Those extensions will be made by the church when ready to develop.  The territory being annexed is not subject to an existing moratorium agreement.  The City of Altoona and the City of
Pleasant Hill do have an Urban Service Boundary agreement that shows where each City has agreed to limit their corporate lines.  The territory proposed to be annexed is situated completely on Altoona’s side of that Urban Service Boundary.

Matt Rasmussen reported the packet appears to be complete and properly filed.

Chad Quick, Planner for the City of Altoona, was present to explain further and answer questions from the Board.

Staff Reports

Matt Rasmussen reported that we will be getting two new Board members in May.  Jay Howe and Barbara Brown did not get reappointed to the Board.  They will be sorely missed.  We do plan to have an appreciation luncheon for Jay and Barbara before our 1:00 p.m., April 10th Board meeting.  As of today, we do not have anything for agenda.
