USMCA - Practical Requirements and Updates

February 10, 2021
9:00-11:00 a.m. CST

The IEDA International Trade Office is hosting Mike Allocca of Alloca Enterprises, a nationally known expert in international trade compliance, logistics and free trade agreements, to lead a webinar on the USMCA. The webinar is designed to help you navigate the new trade agreement with two of the United States' most important trading partners, Canada and Mexico. The United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement went into effect on July 1, replacing the 25-year-old NAFTA. This agreement provides opportunities for U.S. companies to sell to Mexico and Canada, along with new regulatory requirements.

The training will include:

  • Proof of eligibility for originating goods
  • Product-specific rules of origin and regional value content requirements
  • New higher level "de minimis" export and import shipments for Canada and Mexico
  • Preference criteria updates - which ones are no longer available
  • Areas of new upgrades with USMCA over NAFTA
  • E-copy of materials provided before webinar
  • Opportunity to get expert answers to USMCA questions
Registration is now open and limited spots are available. Please register before February 3, 2021 at:

IEDA’s International Trade Office is able to provide this training free of charge to Iowa companies and entities due to grant funding received from the Small Business Administration STEP (State Trade Expansion Program). All Iowa companies are eligible to participate in the webinar, however, due to requirements of the grant program, your company’s status as a Small Business Entity may be requested at time of registration. This allows IEDA to continue providing low cost or free education on important topics on international trade and export compliance to the state of Iowa. Thank you in advance for your compliance.
