The Iowa Center- Financially Savvy Series
Date/Time: January 11 - February 3 | Mondays and Wednesdays, 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. online
Financially Savvy is a four-week course with eight session to increase awareness of best practices for financial management to make good financial judgments. Owners need not be financial experts to own a healthy and whole small business but do need to understand the financials to feel clear and confident in making sound business decisions. Join the Iowa Center and local financial experts to increase your awareness of best practices for financial management. In this 8-class series, expect to gain practical knowledge on Budgets, Financial statements Business financing, Cash flow, Recordkeeping, Banking, Credit Reports and Tax Planning. This is the right course for you if managing your small business financials is completely out of your comfort zone, starting a new business and want to start off on the right track, or need a refresher on basic financial management practices.

The Iowa Center- FocusMe
Dates/Time: January 18 - March 8 | 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. online
FocusME provides a space for working women to support each other with connections and accountability as each sets her own professional and personal goals. New groups form every quarter and meet once per week for eight weeks. Each is led by a facilitator whose role is to organize the group around weekly themes and to push each participant to achieve what she sets forth.
As a participant, attendees will:
- Lean on each other, give advice, share connections and experiences
- Do business with each other if/when appropriate, all while connecting with other women and resources
- Be a source of support, referrals and networking: the focus is on personal development that will impact your growth
- Spend time and emphasis on topics such as goal setting, pitching your ideas, prioritization and time management

The Iowa Center-DreamBuilder
Date/Time: January 28 | March 18, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. virtual
Writing a business plan can be intimidating, juggling market research with competitor analysis, financial projections with marketing strategies. With so much to consider and organize, it’s easy to lose drive. DreamBuilder is a signature eight-week business planning course that will help participants understand the ins and outs of owning and operating a small business in Iowa. Not only will you create a thoughtful business plan, but you’ll work with subject matter experts, established small business owners, and a cohort of peers who will provide support as you build the foundation to launch your business.
Class meets weekly online from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for eight weeks beginning Thursday, January 8. Our final class meeting will take place Thursday, March 18.

The Iowa Center-DreamMaker Webinar Series
Dates/Time: February 15 - March 17 | 9 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. online
Details: Why is maturing your business as hard as—or even harder than—launching? All of the same challenges and obstacles that face a brand-new entrepreneur don’t just fade away after the doors open. They grow and change right along with a business that is finding its feet. It is just as important to reevaluate your values and principles, community impact, and strategic plan as you work towards sustainability and growth—that’s what will be covered in this course.
DreamMaker is a six-week deep dive to help participants find sustainability or even growth in your business after having built a foundation. All the same challenges and obstacles that face a brand-new entrepreneur don’t simply fade away after the doors open. They grow and change right along with a business finding its feet. It is equally important to reevaluate values and principles, community impact and the strategic plan while working towards sustainability and growth, which will be covered in this course.
