Iowa Trade Talk Series
The ITO’s Trade Talk Series continued in the fall with bi-weekly webinars on a variety of topics. OCO Global, a leading authority on exporting, trade and foreign investment, discussed best practices of doing international business virtually. The Food Export Association of the Midwest presented information on their education, market entry, consultation options and low-cost/no-cost promotion tools to help food and agricultural businesses build their export business. The ITO also partnered with Food Export for its Export 101 Session for Food, Beverage and Agriculture Products webinar. The ITO hosted CE expert Yvonne Halpaus of QNET LLC for a session on CE Marking for Machinery, required by the EU to ensure consumer safety for many products. Export opportunities were explored in two regions that may be less known to some Iowa exporters: Thailand/Myanmar and Chile/Peru. The final session of 2020 focused on Financing your Exports with resources from SBA, Ex-Im Bank, broker Trade Acceptance Group and IEDA grant programs.
