Iowa's First EdTech Accelerator Cohort Launches
The first cohort of the Iowa EdTech Accelerator have completed their business models after a 14-week program in which the four businesses worked with mentors and investors to improve their businesses. This is the first time an accelerator has focused on a single industry to help build education technology companies such as these right here in Iowa.
Apprenticeship America
Modeled after the software industry bootcamps, Apprenticeship America is working with clients to get acquainted with businesses and their specific needs to create the necessary training for future employees. This training is hands-on and is much cheaper than the usual hiring and training process, allowing businesses to hire and train new employees without acquiring debt.
The Agenda. Period
The Agenda. Period is an all-in-one planning system and app that helps high achieving women use their menstrual cycle to increase their productivity and impact. The app teaches women about the four phases of their cycle and how to use the gifts of each cycle for peak productivity.
IEPequity
With a goal of helping parents through the individualized education planning (IEP) process for their children with special needs, IEPequity is offering a communications toolkit. This toolkit joins parents with mediators that help them understand concepts and jargon as well as provide support and connects schools with the necessary platforms and resources to help all their students.
TuitionFit
Referred to as the “Kelly Blue Book for colleges,” TuitionFit is building a way for parents and students to discern how much colleges cost. Parents and students can upload financial aid letters to allow anyone with a subscription to utilize consulting services and compare real college prices. College search professionals and colleges and universities themselves have also joined the platform to provide real pricing information and compare competitors’ prices.
