3rd Degree Screening, Inc., a full-service pre-employment background check company located in Council Bluffs, was recognized in an article in the Digital Journal. The Professional Background Screening Association® Background Screening Credentialing Council (BSCC) recently announced that 3rd Degree Screening has successfully demonstrated compliance with the Background Screening Agency Accreditation Program and will now be formally recognized as BSCC-Accredited.


Alina Warner, certified health coach and owner of Wellness Within You, was selected to present at the Vulnerably You conference that took place in Cedar Rapids on March 25. Alina presented a workshop titled Unleash Your Personal Power, which provided steps to maximize personal efforts to accomplish goals in life. Wellness Within you is located in Cedar Rapids and offers health coaching services and seminars to individuals and organizations.


Bolinger Solutions was highlighted by the Creston News Advertiser for being selected by America’s SBDC Iowa for the Small Business of the Month award. They were also recognized for certification as a Targeted Small Business. Bolinger Solutions, located in Creston and owned by Dr. Jesse Bolinger, offers a multitude of services for businesses and non-profits including call center abilities and coaching/consulting.


Classroom Clinic was highlighted in Clay and Milk for being part of the inaugural 2021 cohort of the Iowa Go-To-Market (G2M) Accelerator. Located in Carroll and owned by Sue Gehling, Classroom Clinic provides rural school districts with timely and convenient access to children’s mental health services using telehealth technologies.


Courageous Fire, founder of Courageous Fire, LLC, was recently interviewed for an article in Black Iowa News as well as for Urban Experience Magazine regarding domestic violence in the Black community. Courageous Fire, located in Des Moines, is an advocate for victims of domestic violence, dedicated to providing awareness to and healing from lesser-known forms of domestic violence.


Erik Dominguez, owner of Speak Up Stories in Waukee and public speaking trainer, has been nominated as an Inspiring Advocate for Women by the Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa. Speak up Stories empowers people to overcome their public speaking fear through individualized coaching sessions and workshops.


Julie Mangels of julsdesign (DBA QB Studios), was recently named 2021 Local Business Person of the Year by Alignable. Located in Ankeny, QB Studios, creates custom apparel, promotional products and more.


Lu Spaine, Drake University graduate and founder of Zumi Collection, LLC, was highlighted in an alumni profile on the Drake University Facebook page. Zumi is located in Des Moines and features a diverse collection of African Art, Women's ethnic wear and a wide variety of clothing accessories, home décor, gifts, and more from Africa, Asia and South America.
