Leadership Exchange 2023
The Annual Iowa Leadership Exchange is an educational event held to bolster existing rural leadership programs, support a statewide network of program leaders, and empower communities to grow local leaders. Co-Hosted by the Center for Rural Revitalization at Iowa Economic Authority, ABI Foundation, and Leadership Iowa, the event is designed for existing leadership program directors and managers from across the state to share best practices for strengthening existing programs. Additionally, communities or organizations interested in starting their own programs or fostering leadership development are welcome to attend and learn from statewide experts.
The two-day event at Gatherings in Nevada, Iowa, will kick off at 10 a.m. on October 26 and features two days of strategies for elevating local leadership, roundtable discussions on alumni engagement and measures of success, and skill development for building our influence.
The agenda starts with an opening conversation with IEDA|IFA Director Debi Durham to set the stage for discussions on leading from the front and how one person can make a difference. In addition to multiple opportunities for small group breakouts, attendees will also hear from Lt. Governor Adam Gregg, chair of the Governor's Empower Rural Iowa Initiative, and receive a half-day training from ATW Training Solutions.
Finally, all participants are encouraged to stay and attend the Networking Reception and Exchanging Excellence programming from 4-6 p.m. for storytelling tales of leadership, lore, and learning, hosted by Jim Thompson of the Iowa Downtown Resource Center.
Registration Fee: $50 (includes light breakfast both mornings, lunch on October 26, and reception hors d'oeuvres)
The 2023 Leadership Exchange is sponsored in part by Iowa Economic Development Authority, Governor’s Empower Rural Iowa Initiative, ABI Foundation, Leadership Iowa, and the Iowa Rural Development Council.
